- Janus 2022, "Simulators" (LessWrong) — foundational; GPT as simulator sampling over simulacra.
- Janus, "Conditioning Predictive Models" sequence.
- Janus, "GPT Lore".
- Hubinger et al. 2023, "Conditioning Predictive Models" (arXiv 2302.00805).
- Anthropic character-training discussion.
Done condition: Janus "Simulators" read end-to-end + 1-page synthesis for the User Modeling gist's "Theoretical lineage" section; decide whether to add Janus 2022 + Hubinger 2023 to the PSM references. ~3-5 hrs, fits the daily paper-reading block.
